Finntrack
About this product
FinnTrack is a subscription web app that teaches children aged 8–12 to understand their own money. It's an educational tool, not a financial service, as it holds no funds, connects to no bank accounts, and issues no cards. The gap it fills: Every existing kids' money product - Greenlight, Acorns Early, and Cash App issues a debit card, which makes them structurally blind to cash. A young person's money is mostly physical: allowance in coins, a birthday note, a few dollars in a pocket. If a kid spends a five-dollar bill, those apps never know it happened. FinnTrack is built for that money. How it works: A parent signs up and creates a profile for each child, generating a username and password for them - children never have email addresses and can't create their own accounts. Parents add their money on the app whenever they give them money in real life. Children log what they spend, recording the amount, date, time, location, and what it was for. Then they label it as either a necessity, want, asset, or liability - the four categories every real balance sheet uses. They can then see where their money went and whether they came out ahead each month. Two interfaces: Children see their balance, log spending, and view their summary. Parents see everything, and get an alert for every withdrawal with the full details. Parents add money and children spend it. Only parents can edit past entries, so the record stays honest. What it deliberately doesn't do: No debit card, no bank connection, no advertising, no tracking. Funded by subscription so it never has to be funded by data. Pricing: $6.99/month or $49.99/year, covering every child on the account.
